What is The Red Tent ?

The Red Tent is a special gathering space for women. It is a place for ceremony, multi-generational wisdom sharing, storytelling, celebration, support, brave and bold conversation, soulful creativity and nourishing rest. It is one of the few places in our society where women can come together to just be who we are. Inspired by The Red Tent book by Anita Diamant and encouraged by The Red Tent Movement, we come together to celebrate and honor our feminine spirit and life experiences. In the Red Tent, we have time, space and support to remember who we are and reconnect to our intuition. We come as we are. ALL women are invited to the Red Tent. We are committed to creating an open, accepting environment free of judgment or expectations.

RED TENT MINI RETREAT: Celebrating HERstory & The Feminine Spirit!

March 22, 2020 | 3:00 pm-8:30 pm | The Retreat at Wellness Corner

Address: 6237 Vance Rd, Suite 8, Chattanooga, TN- backside of Nutrition World

COST: $38.00 per adult woman & $14.00 per youth girl

Limited to 24 participants.

Join us for this extended Red Tent experience celebrating feminine history, goddess art and female empowerment.

If you’ve never experienced a Red Tent gathering, THIS is the one to come to! If you have gathered with us before, you will love this mini-retreat version of our circle. We will gather in circle and ceremony, watch the recently released HERSTORY film, create goddess flags and other crafts, share stories and poetry honoring Women’s History Month, and end our time together with restorative music and meditation. A nourishing dinner is included as well as snacks and teas. You can also opt to just rest, read, journal or observe throughout the evening. Registration is limited to 24 women and past Red Tent gatherings usually exceeded this number so register early!

HERSTORY Film & Goddess Banner Exhibit

A highlight of our evening will be the screening of HERSTORY, a documentary celebrating the life of Lydia Ruyle. She traveled the world studying goddess culture and painted 283 banners representing various goddesses throughout history. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, she did not start painting banners until she was 60 years old! Reproductions of some her banners will be on display.

Goddess Art Creative Spirit Circle

& Wise Woman Altar

Together we will create our own goddess flag, inspired by the film. Supplies for other goddess themed crafts will be available too.

We will also co-create an altar honoring goddesses and wise women throughout history…from the earliest of times to modern day. Bring photos, cards, a book, a stone, flowers, candles, or any other item that you would like to add to the altar.

Although supplies will be provided, feel free to bring additional art supplies to use or share.
